Poipu Beach

On our way back from Waimea Canyon we turned off the main highway and drove through a long tree lined road to Poipu Beach. It was very nice beach and we stayed until sunset enjoying the sea, sun and sand. For the first time on the trip I went snorkeling. I was surprised by the amount of fish I could see just off the shore. The snorkeling was almost as good as the Molokini snorkel cruise we took later on in Maui. Jamie also tried snorkeling for her first time ever. She was happy to have a shallow pool protected from the waves to practice. Before leaving the area we checked out the Spouting Horn. It was a hole in the rock near the shore which when the waves came in the water would spray out of it making a deep blowing noise.
