Mana Kai Maui Hotel

Our hotel in Maui was the Mana Kai Maui in the south central city of Kihei. We were originally put in a tiny room, but the front desk soon called asking if we wanted to upgrade to an ocean view rooms at a discount. I couldn't say no with the look on an excited Jamie's face. The room was huge, complete with a kitchenette and a big lanai (deck) overlooking the ocean and palm trees. We went to bed every night with the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. The hotel had a nice beach and Jamie had her first experience with large ocean waves. We had a great time playing on the beach and relaxing in our room. We were also happy with our location in Kihei. The west side of the island has some very ritzy, heavily tourist centered towns, but we preferred this quieter section of the island.
