The main reason I suggested the family reunion be in Utah was to get a chance to return to Zion. It's our favorite national park and nothing was diminished by visiting it a third time. Like before we stayed at Zion Lodge which had great views of the surrounding red rock cliffs. Rachel braved the hike up Angels landing with my family. Despite having secure chains to hang on to the trail's exposure to sheer cliff drops always makes it a bit scary. The whole family hiked up the Narrows once again. Everyone was willing this time to hike up the river, but further up it got too deep for the younger daughters to continue. On our last day we finally hiked the Watchman trail. On our previous visit we had attempted the trail when it was over 100F and we had to soon turn around after running out of water. This time we started in morning with plenty of shade and completed the hike with no issues.
