Rome - Fountains

Europe Map

Nestled among Rome's streets and squares can be found fountains which are true works of art. Just across from our hotel in Piazza Navona were three impressive fountains created in the 16th century. A few blocks over was the even more spectacular Trevi Fountain, created in the 18th century. Legend has it that if one throws a coin in the Trevi Fountain they are assured a speedy return to Rome. We didn't throw any coins in as the reality was that for 34 years an unemployed man was sneaking into the fountain every morning and collecting the coins.
