I've never attended a protest before, but the current administration's complete abuse of power, violations of the Constitution, and hostility towards immigrants pushed me and my family to join the nationwide "No Kings" protest in Seattle. It was the second such protest of the year, but larger. Nearly 90,000 people showed up at the Seattle Center grounds to protest. After some speeches from various leaders from the area, including a congresswoman, the group marched a couple of miles through downtown Seattle and finished at Pike Place Market. Over 6 million people protested across the country, likely making it the largest single-day protest in U.S. history. It was great seeing so many people showing their displeasure with the authoritarian president, but we should have never been in this position in the first place. Over half of U.S. voters thought that it was best to bring a lying, hateful sociopath back into the presidency. The problem may have more to do with the country itself rather than just one man.
