Back in 2011 I hiked to Lake Ingalls with my sister and a very young Lily on my back. The spectacular view of Mount Stuart from the hike inspired me to climb the Stuart the next year with Matt. Twelve years later I returned with Matt and our oldest daughters to hike again to the lake. Once again we hiked up a couple miles to reach Ingalls Pass which gave us the first of many views of Mount Stuart. We briefly hiked along the ridge to eventually drop into a beautiful meadow area only to climb again up and over a rock ridge to reach the lake. The lake and the backdrop of Stuart again was spectacular. Matt and I reminisced about our climb and sadly realized we were not as young or as in shape as we were when we made the tough climb. Our daughters did great on the 9 mile hike and it was good to get in another daddy daughter hike, especially with our daughters' busy schedules. This was in fact Rachel's last day in the state before heading to college which made the hike extra special.
