Like Disneyland, California Adventure had a new land to visit, but the Avengers Campus area wasn't anywhere near as impressive as Galaxy's Edge. The best part was the Mission Breakout ride which was a well done Guardians of the Galaxy retheming of the original Tower of Terror. We had a hard time finding Marvel characters in the area as they would only briefly appear and often not stop for pictures.
The rides at a California Adventure weren't as fun in part due to the kids unwillingness to ride them. This made for some difficulty when trying to find something for the family to enjoy together. Jamie and I will have to return some day to enjoy the park without the scaredy kids.
One nice part during our stay was since we stayed at the Grand Californian we didn't have to walk far to get into California Adventure. This was especially helpful during the opening hour rope drop. One thing to note is the Grand Californian entrance is open to everyone so there is no need to spend one's life savings to stay at the hotel.
