We returned to the Olympic Peninsula for a third week in a row to camp at Scenic Beach on Hood Canal. I was tired of dealing with the stop and go traffic through Tacoma and decided to take the equally slow route via ferry across Puget Sound. When we arrived to the campground we were saddened to find campfires had been banned due to the dry summer. This allowed us to spend more family time playing card games at night though the kids lost their patience with games by the second night. We brought Rachel's paddleboard which worked out well on the first day, but the second day had stronger winds and bigger waves which made paddling a challenge. Though the camping was nice we were happy to return home as we'd been away for four of the past five weekends.
