Our final day of touring started with some wine tasting in Dry Creek Valley in Northern Sonoma County. We stopped at three wineries and each had a special experience. The girls liked the dog at Mauritson Winery, the cats at Preston Vineyard and we liked the beautiful setting at Cast Winery. All had great wines to taste and the drive through the valley was very beautiful and relaxing.
After the wineries we pressed on trying to make it into Oregon before we stopped for the night. As evening approached we made it to Redwood National Park. We took a short stop at the beach and then drove through the park as darkness was falling. It was unfortunate we couldn't stop to see the amazing trees up close, but we had been to the park twice before. At sunset we came across an overlook just in time to watch the sun set over the ocean. Though our road trip was near an end, we still had to do a long drive in the dark to Grants Pass, Oregon followed by another long drive home the next day.
