Penrose Point Camping

For our second camping trip of the summer we went to Penrose Point State Park to camp with other families from Rachel's class. The highlight or lowlight of the trip was when a tree fell on Rachel. I had just set up my hammock and got in to test it out, but Rachel and Vivian decided to jump in with me. Unfortunately one of the trees tied to the hammock turned out to be dead and it fell in on us as we sat down. I tried to push it out of the way as it fell, but it ended up partially landing on Rachel. She hurt her head and wrist, but fortunately she had no serious injuries.

The rest of the trip was less eventful. The kids had fun playing with other kids and the adult shared dinner and a campfire during the evening. The next morning we headed out to the beach to search for crabs and other critters amongst the rocks exposed by low tide.
