After having a great time camping last summer we couldn't wait to go again this year. Under rainy April skies
we headed to Deception Pass State Park with expectations of a soggy weekend. We were surprised to find decent
dry weather at the campground. We only later found out that Deception Pass is in a rain shadow which explained
the good conditions. We found the campground to be decent, but even better were the scenic beaches just a short
walk away. Great views of San Juans and the Deception Pass bridge we found from the beaches along with some trails
and rocks for the girls to climb on. It was surprising to find such a great campground not too far from home. We
look forward to returning another year.
