This year we tried to continue an annual drive around Mt. Rainier, but last November's storms
had destroyed part of the road preventing us from doing the full loop. We drove up to Sunrise
with hopes of hiking to Burroughs Mountain, but we started late
so we stuck to the shorter nature trail instead. Rainier and all the neighboring peaks were
covered in clouds so we focused our sightseeing on the wildflowers in the lush fields at Sunrise.
Though the trip did not go all as planned we still had a pleasant time and Rachel continued her
annual pilgrimage to the mountain.
