Paris is filled with several great museums and we were able to see two of the best. Our first museum stop was the Louvre which is absolutely huge and contains art from the beginning of history to the Renaissance. Though one can spend days in the museum, we were able to rush through most of the exhibits, including the famed Mona Lisa, in less than a day.

Across the Seine is the less famous, but more interesting (to us at least) Musee D'Orsay. The museum is a former railway station that contains art from 1848 to WWI. It houses a large Impressionist display including works by Monet and Van Gogh.

Venus Di Milo

Michelangelo's Slaves sculpture in the Louvre

Mona Lisa - the photo is a bit fuzzy because of its protective glass and all the jostling of the large crowd

Inside the Louvre

Jamie crashing the Wedding of Cana - this large painting was painted by Paolo Caliari in 1562

Inside the Musee D'Orsay

Whistler's Mother and David's Jamie

Crowning of David
