Big Four Ice Caves Snowshoe Trip
For the 1999-2000 Winter season I took a snowshoeing class through the Mountaineers. Along with learning Winter travel,
avalanche awareness and Winter camping, I also had to go on some trips. In December I went to the Big Four
ice caves near Silverton. The caves themselves were mostly covered with snow, but we were met with a spectacular view
of Big Four Mountain with several waterfalls and the occasional avalanche falling down its face. The day was a soggy one, but
the trip was a good one nonetheless.
