Mason Lake Hikes

In preparation for our Enchantment hike in September Julie and I did a few hikes along the I-90 corridor. Two of which shared the same trailhead. They also straddled Mason Lake which I had done previously. In July we hiked up Bandara Mountain which rose above Mason Lake. It was a nice hike (7 miles round trip) and it was nice day, but the views on the summit were blocked by trees on one side.

In August Matt joined us on a hike up Mount Defiance. This was a longer hike (11 miles round trip) that first went down to Mason Lake and then further on through the forest and then up through hill side meadow to the summit. The top was clear of trees, but there was nothing to see due to low clouds. I can't complain much as both hikes had nice trails and they provided training for the spectacular hike we were to do in September.
