Montreal - Spring

For my third trip to Montreal I was lucky to have Jamie and Rachel visit for a few days. They got to experience the snow early on, but the days soon warmed up to above freezing and Spring was on the way. Every day more and more snow melted revealing a new city to me. By the end of my trip most of the snow had disappeared.

During the weekend we visited many of the sights I had seen earlier including Mount Royal, Old Town and the Underground City. We ventured further east to the Olympic Stadium. Near the stadium we explored the Biodome, which was a small ecosystem zoo converted from the Olympic velodrome. Rachel went crazy at the penguin exhibit which had views of penguins above and below the water. Perhaps the only thing Rachel liked more was the Montreal Metro.

When alone in Montreal I ate very cheaply, but while Jamie and Rachel were in town we went to some good eateries. The best was either the famous bagels at St. Viateur Café or Rachel making a delightful mess with chocolate fondue at Fonduementale.

Jamie and Rachel soon left for home and I followed a few days later, but only for 36 hours. I next flew to Plano Texas for quite a different trip.
