Egypt Trip - St. Catherine's Monastery

Nearly 1500 years old, St. Catherine's is one of the world's oldest monasteries. It contains an Islamic mosque and Jewish artifacts, but is mostly a Greek Orthodox Christian church. It's located at the base of Mount Sinai and as a result is where all the summit hikes start and end. Inside we saw an interesting church with all kinds of lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Also in the monastery was the well where Moses supposedly met his wife. The main attraction for pilgrims is the transplanted bush that became the Burning Bush (God transfigured into a flaming bush to speak with Moses). Ironically, there is a nearby fire extinguisher in case the bush should catch fire.
