On our third day in Paris we headed across the Seine to explore the Left Bank. We enjoyed strolling the streets and exploring the area. This was another one of the Paris city walks featured in our Rick Steves guide book. After finding the interesting, albeit obscure, sights on our walk we had lunch at a nice cafe next to the famous Le Deux Magots Cafe. While it may have been fun to try and dine in the more famous eatery, it was too crowded and the only seats were in the bright hot sun. The nearby cafe was shady and had the same view of Saint Germain. We then headed to St. Sulpice Church which is not as impressive as Notre Dame, but was featured in the Da Vinci Code. Later in the day we explored the Latin Quarter and stopped by at the Shakespeare and Company English bookstore. The store seemed to be populated with American hippies and struggling writers. One of Jamie's favorite stops on the Left Bank was also a favorite on our last trip - the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens.
