Burroughs Mountain Hike

The Burroughs Mountain is a series of flat peaks and ridges off of Sunrise at Rainier. My sister and I started the hike early in the morning and found the Sunrise visitor center surprisingly empty. Though it was beautiful and sunny the temperatures were near freezing. We hiked up to the second of the Burroughs peaks and got some wonderful northeast views of Rainier, including the camp Muir summit route. The hike up made us feel like we were on the moon, due to the lack of vegetation. As a contrast, the loop route down contained trees and lakes.
