Lopez Island Trip - Arrival

For Memorial Day Weekend, Jamie and I spent two nights on Lopez Island in the San Juans. Since the island was small and ferry traffic can be awful at Lopez, we decided to tour the island entirely by bike. On our way from the ferry to our B & B, we stopped at the Lopez Island Vineyards. It was a small winery, but we still ended up buying four bottles of wine. We were pleased with our purchases, but they didn't help the weight of packs. Luckily the B & B, The Inn at Swifts Bay, was only a couple miles away, so we weren't too tired when we finally arrived.

The first day of our trip also happened to be Jamie's 30th birthday. We celebrated with dinner at the Bay Cafe which is in town. Though the Cafe itself was very casual, the food was fantastic. It was surprising to find 4 star dining on a island with a population of only 2,000. We finished the day by relaxing in the hot tub at the B & B.
